The Sustainable Development Goals are conceived at a global level, and Charles University is aware of this scope and its role in it. Active involvement in international initiatives, the exchange of know-how, and examples of good practice in the field of sustainable development and strengthening of international relations are among the key activities of the university on its path to sustainability.
In the area of science and research, CU participates in international research projects funded by the European Union and other organizations. It is a founding member of the 4EU+ Alliance, which focuses on sustainable development and climate change, and actively participates in projects related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Other partner projects include RCE Czechia, UNICA Green, and the Copernicus Alliance.
As part of international student exchanges, the university offers study programmes and courses on sustainable development in English and regularly organizes international conferences, seminars, and workshops. In this way, the university contributes to addressing global challenges through research, education, and cooperation with international partners.
