To successfully implement the strategic goals, it is necessary to define key areas for improvement and outline specific projects within the Action Plan that will support these objectives. The Action plans, spanning two-year periods — 2023–2024, 2025–2026, 2027–2028, and 2029–2030 — will detail concrete methods for monitoring and evaluation, and identify the financial resources required for effective implementation. They will also designate responsible implementers and provide regular assessments to track progress and the achievement of key indicators.
The second Action Plan for 2025 and 2026 focuses on the practical implementation of specific measures of the Charles University Sustainable Development Strategy. It focuses on the development of key areas in which the university can achieve significant progress in the short term. It builds on the foundations built by the first Action Plan and moves the university from coordination and preparation to targeted implementation of sustainable goals.

The first Action Plan for 2023 and 2024 focused primarily on cooperation, communication and awareness within Charles University in an effort to create a solid foundation for the successful implementation of strategic goals, in particular by improving university-wide dialogue and coordination (e.g. by appointing coordinators or expert working groups) in the area of sustainable development.
It is this systematic work to strengthen internal cooperation and build the necessary infrastructure that has become a key starting point for the content and conclusions of the Report on CU‘s path toward sustainability 2023-2024, which captures how these created processes and structures have translated into concrete outcomes during the first two years of strategy implementation.
