We would like to invite you to the European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW; ETUR in Czechia), which is a pan-European festival promoting sustainability in all its aspects, as formulated by the UN in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Topics range from social equality, health promotion, a fair economy to climate action and the development of sustainable cities. There are countless opportunities to get involved. The annual ESDW falls on the week of 20–26 September, but due to the start of the academic year, we will take advantage of the extended time frame.
ESDW 2025 will take place at Charles University, taking into account the thematic overlap with the European Mobility Week, from September 16 to October 8, 2025. As in previous years, the faculties and other parts of the university will also join the program. The program will also include a diverse range of activities, such as conferences, exhibitions, seminars, workshops, lectures, film screenings, community events, open days and more. This year, the event will be held in the spirit of: One university, a thousand sustainable paths, with the main theme being Sustainable mobility.
This year we have prepared a special event for international students – a two-hour guided bike ride through Prague! The tour is organized together with AutoMat, an association promoting better conditions for cycling in the city. You’ll discover how to move around Prague by bike safely while exploring important student-friendly places such as Kampus Hybernská, the newly built Biocentrum, the Faculty of Law and more. Our guides will share practical tips on safe cycling in Prague, with short stops to highlight key rules, fun facts, and useful information about the buildings along the route. Don’t miss out – capacity is limited!
For more information about this tour, please contact the bike tour coordinator:
The menu will be adjusted during the week - we will offer mostly vegan and vegetarian dishes, with only one meat dish.

A map of Prague will be placed on the outside wall of the café's relaxation zone, along with colorful self-adhesive stickers in four colors, divided according to the carbon footprint of transportation. Students and employees of the Faculty will be able to mark the starting point of their trip to school or work on the map in the color according to the carbon footprint they leave behind.
