European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW) was a vibrant Europe-wide festival celebrating sustainability in all its aspects, as outlined by the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The themes, covering a wide range of topics, from social equality and health promotion to fair economy, climate action, and the development of sustainable cities, offered countless opportunities for involvement.
At Charles University, the event took place from 2 to 8 October 2024, accommodating the extended deadline due to the start of the academic year. The university organized a varied and engaging programme in collaboration with Sustainability Coordinators. Activities included interactive workshops, thematic discussions, popular SWAPs, and inspiring lectures delivered by both internal and external experts. The unifying theme of the event focused on the circular economy, waste management, and the principle of 're-use', creating a meaningful and impactful experience for all participants, including the university community and the public.
