"The award in the category of corporate podcast goes to - Udržitelná Karlovka!", a sentence that put a cherry on top of the gala evening, at least in Filip Liška's and the CU Sustainable development team's eyes. Filip, the producer and host of the podcast, who has been working on it since its inception in April 2022, accepted the award from the founder of the Czech Social Awards.
Udržitelná Karlovka stood out in a competition of many engaging podcasts with a variety of focuses. The win, however, highlights the current demand and interest of the public, especially the younger generation, in the whole spectrum of sustainable development topics. Udržitelná Karlovka strives to bring environmental challenges and green innovations out of the academic environment and into public life, to show that sustainability is neither a curse word nor an unattainable goal, but a common project to which each of us can contribute. In our own way. The guests therefore consist of both university experts and committed students, as well as motivated graduates in the private sector.
And as Filip pointed out, "The environment at Charles University is open, academic, and that is the greatest potential that the CU can boast and [...] present."
All episodes of the podcast are available HERE (only in Czech).
Filip Liška was not the only CU representative to receive an award on this occasion. Rozárie Haškovcová, alias shluk.bunek, was the winner in the Gen Z category addressing mainly the so-called "generation Z". On her Instagram profile, the CU SOCIAL student focuses on environmental politics and a "green" approach to everyday life. In 2023, she also took part in the first year of the Student Grant Competition for Sustainable Development with a project about the reality of the fashion industry and education in secondary schools.
Rozárie, warm congratulations to you too!
