Charles University is joining the global initiative Giving Tuesday, which celebrates generosity, solidarity, and good deeds. As part of this effort, we are hosting a Food Collection, taking place on December 2 and 3, 2024, at the Gratis Market in Hybernská Campus between 11–5 pm.
All collected items will be donated to the Food Bank for Prague and Central Bohemia to support people in need. We kindly ask you to bring:
Non-perishable food items (e.g., rice, pasta, canned goods, oil, sugar, flour, baby food, durable milk, instant soups, etc.)
Food in undamaged packaging and with a valid expiration date.
The Food Bank does not accept homemade products, so please refrain from bringing them. In addition to food, we also welcome children’s toiletries (e.g., diapers, baby shampoos, and soaps).
Giving Tuesday is an international day of giving and solidarity, created as a counterbalance to consumer-driven days like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It takes place on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States and encourages individuals, organizations, and companies to support those most in need. Giving Tuesday shows that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
Join this initiative and contribute to improving the lives of those facing hardships. Every little bit helps!
Thank you for helping us make a difference.
